  • The import of vehicles requires prior authorization from the Ministry of Commerce in Kabul, Afghanistan.
  • Only foreigners that own a work permit or working visa & diplomats are allowed to import a vehicle.
  • Tourists are not allowed to import vehicle in the country.

Vehicles taxed at between 10 and 16 percent, according to model and year. Trucks and buses taxed at a rate of 2.5 percent. Diplomats exempted of paying duties and taxes.
